I’ll Live My Second Life! Chapter 108

When they arrived at Zephyrs’ residence, the atmosphere was tense.

It was not uncommon for private soldiers to be stationed at the private residences of noblemen for security purposes.

But there was an unusual number of them on the residence.

Fee, having learned the techniques of the Grass from Cain, was able to notice this.
Although it was done in such a way that the total number wasn’t obvious, there were quite a few soldiers in the residence. There were even knights from the First Knight Corps who had not participated in the escort.

After completing their lookout mission in the forest, Fee and the others gathered in front of Crow.

“We’ll also be working as lookouts around the mansion. Cain, Conrad, and Palwick, you’ll hide in the surrounding woods and stay alert. Garouge and Albul, you’ll join the knights and take charge of security.”

“What about me, Sir Crow?” Fee was the only one whose name wasn’t called.

“Yes, Heath, follow me for a moment.”

Fee followed him.

They went in from the back of the estate. The soldiers who had been guarding the mansion bowed when they saw Crow’s face and let him through immediately.

Inside, armed knights were making rounds. Crow and Fee passed by them many times.

After following behind Crow for a while, they both entered one of the rooms.

Once inside, Fee saw that everything had been removed and a hole had been cut in the ceiling.

She immediately understood the purpose.

“Can you get in?” Crow asked.

“I think so.” Fee nodded at Crow’s words.

Then he told her where he wanted her to go and what he intended her to do.

“You’re to be Her Majesty Queen Fiiru’s bodyguard. You are to accompany Her Majesty Queen Fiiru without her knowledge. Keep watch without being discovered from the ceiling of the room. And come down if any trouble occurs.”

Crow’s expression was serious as he said the last words.

He looked as if he was worried about Fee’s safety, but also as if he was determined to send her anyway.

(Come down if any trouble occurs.) In other words, he meant that she should risk her life.

“I understand.” Fee nodded back at Crow with the same serious expression.

In order to be a knight, you had to be willing to risk your life. When she decided to stand on the same stage as the 18th Knights, she had already prepared to do so.

Furthermore, if it was for the sake of her sister she was not afraid to risk her life.

Fee left Crow and went into the air vent and headed for the room where her sister was. If her sister was there, then the king would probably be there too. Perhaps this would be the first time Fee would see him in person.

When she arrived at the room, she looked down from the ceiling and saw Fiiru, whom she hadn’t seen in a long time.

The angle made it difficult to see much, but she thought that Fiiru was thinner than when she was in Daeman. Her expression was not very cheerful.

And King Roy was nowhere to be found in the room.

Instead, there was a young man with silver hair lying on the bed.

The young man, who had closed his eyes as if asleep, showed no sign of waking up, and did not respond to Fiiru sitting beside him.

There was a large scar on his right forehead.

(Who ……?) At the sight of the strange young man, a question arose in Fee’s mind.

Fiiru squeezed the young man’s unresponsive hand.

“Tomas ……” She murmured in a sad voice.

Tomas— Fee had vaguely heard that name before.

He was the prince of the smallest country bordering Daeman. Back in her home country, she was once told by the maids that if it was to someone like him, even Fee might be able to marry one day.

She had few personal relationships in Daeman, and she had only attended domestic parties so she’d never met him before. And she had heard that he had lost his life in a carriage accident this past year.

She wondered why Prince Tomas was in this place.

Beyond Fee’s gaze, Fiiru caressed the scar on Prince Tomas’ forehead with a tearful expression.

A warm blue light flashed in her hand—Fiiru’s healing power. But even with that light, Prince Tomas would not open his eyes.

That was to be expected.

If he had been injured so badly that he had fallen into a state of unconsciousness, Fiiru’s healing power would not be able to help him. The power of healing was only enough to heal minor injuries. Even though Fiiru was said to be a healing priestess, in reality her ability was very limited.

Even so, it was a rare and miraculous power that only Fiiru possessed in this day and age.

And so people flocked to her.

It was a power that didn’t do much. It didn’t make wishes come true, and yet it attracted the expectations and trust of many.

Fee knew that Fiiru, who had this power, was not at all able to obtain happiness because of it.

Her healing power could not heal the person who she wanted to heal, and she could only stare helplessly at his profile as he slept.

Under Fee’s watchful eye, Fiiru didn’t once leave Tomas’ side.
